About us
The Gay Harris Dancers have come a long way since Gay
persuaded by her Mother started teaching a few little friends of Gay’s
daughter Adele. Their first Concert was at Tynewydd Road Church Hall in
Rhyl. This has been followed by years of performances for Local Charities
etc.
Their first full shows where at the Gaiety Theatre
Rhyl, using the 1st Rhyl Scouts group for comedy back up to the Dancers.
These shows all met with great success.
They then did two shows at the Original Rhyl Pavilion
Theatre, in fact they literally brought the house down, and as theirs
was the last show in there before sadly the great theatre was demolished
(dangerous domes still intact).
This was followed by a number of shows at the Rhyl
Town Hall and then the Coliseum Theatre Rhyl.
After the closure of the Coliseum Theatre they were
invited by the then Manager Giles Ballastrat of the New Pavilion Theatre
Rhyl to mover there. It was with much trepidation they accepted.
At this point Adele having followed her Mother into
a career in the Professional Theatre decided to join her in the Dance/Stage
School, and due to this plus the First Class facilities supportive technical
staff, Management, Parents and most of all the amazing audiences they
have gone from strength to strength.
The Group is totally self funding and the long waiting
lists of Children from 3 years of age upwards is proof that most parents
do not object to the discipline involved in being a member, and taking
part in their annual summer productions of Junior Showtime.
