The programme acknowledged the support of the Gay Harris
dancers and I am
sure the choreographer had the benefit of some well trained dancers. As
a
result some of the pattern and formations as well as the semi-classical
movements brought a sense of ballet to the fairies' dances. It was
expansible and inventive with graceful arm movements and precise, well
timed footwork and interesting patterns of movements.
"some visually stunning effects as six fairies
danced under the rippling
cloths held by the other four"
"flowing drapes of the dancing friaries where
quite stunning"
FAIRIES AIMEE DANZI, HANNAH CARTY, ALYS MCDONALD, JODIE MARTIN, SHEILA
DUFFY, MIA DANZI CARLA SMITH, MOLLY-ANN BIBBY, SAM JACKSON & RACHEL
MORGAN.
Where can I start, They were an excellent chorus, beautifully
expressive
dancers and all had important contributions. The overall vitality of the
fairies was paramount to the success of the productions. They filled the
stage in some impressive groupings danced like a corps de ballet. Their
preparation - curly stiffened hair, garlands and immaculate costumes
showed the dedication they had to it all and their footwork was a nimble
as that of fairy folk should be.
ENDEAVOUR, ORIGINALITY AND THEATRICAL ATTAINMENT.
The grace and spectacle of the Fairies in dance
were a real theatrical
attainment. The original choreography and its performance especially but
the dancing fairies were outstanding.
